My path to founding and operating a baking business has been far from direct. Just like the recipes that inspire Boomerang Bites, I am a transplant from Australia. Trained as a civil engineer, I arrived in the US in my 20s to pursue graduate study and built a career at the World Bank, spending much of the last twenty years traveling to remote corners of the globe providing advice, and more recently teaching graduate students - on how to deliver essential services (water, sanitation, electricity, roads, public transport) to underdeveloped communities in low-income countries.

From there, I was invited to speak in Mexico…

I started my career in Los Angeles, adapting novels into TV movies for Hallmark, and then editing fiction at Simon & Schuster after moving back to NYC. I always saw myself in more of an editorial role than working as a writer. But in LA I met and became close with actress Cerina Vincent, and we developed an idea for the type of humorous girlfriend-to-girlfriend advice books that were popular back then….
