Member Spotlight: Annie Seelaus

I began my career working at HSBC in the institutional bond market in London and then New York. Following the financial crisis I saw an opportunity to join Seelaus, the firm my father had founded in 1984, and build out a full service financial services firm with a mission. When I took over as CEO in 2015 I saw an opportunity for our firm to 'put our money where our mouth is' and make improving the lives of women and changing the paradigm around gender diversity in the financial services front and center. At Seelaus we believe that strong investment portfolio returns and investing in diversity and investing with impact are not mutually exclusive endeavors.

Seelaus Asset Management is a women-owned and mission driven asset manager. We strive to provide our clients with superior investment returns while also investing with impact and creating more opportunities for women in the financial services both internally and externally. We believe that financial education and smart investing are at the heart of empowering women with freedom and optionality.

I heard about The Co-Co through friends and coworkers in Summit and immediately identified with their mission. From the moment I first saw their signature orange sign go up I was always looking for ways our firm could work with The Co-Co and their community to build more sustainable support networks for women in all their endeavors and to be a part of the idea sharing that is at the heart of all our successes.
