Member Spotlight: Michelle Myers
I was born bossy, sassy, smart and in deep touch with my feelings, which showed up as pure energy flowing through my body. These characteristics in a 4 year old during the time I was growing up were not always understood, welcomed or nourished. Over the past 24 years of my life I’ve been on a super fun, bumpy, hard, and, treacherous at times journey of true self-discovery, self-connection and self-love. I believe firmly we cannot give what we don’t have.
Today I describe myself as a bold, courageous, resilient, imperfect, loving woman.
My career, while mostly marked by society as “successful” had so many learnings, transformation, successes and plenty of big failures which led me to realize when I had reached the “top job”, head of HR for a health care technology company, that it was not at all the job I wanted, liked or should even be in. YIKES, an 18 year successful career climbing the corporate ladder only to realize I absolutely hated everything I was doing, putting up with and giving up on in my life. So, January of 2015, I launched my own business consulting and leadership coaching company and began my journey of entrepreneurship with full permission to design and create the life and impact I was meant to have in this world. By the way, at the time I didn’t quite realize that’s what I was doing, I just simply didn’t want to work 70 hours a week anymore for jerks.
Today, my business, Summit Leadership Coaching, provides high impact coaching, leadership development, and consulting services to organizations, leaders, teams, and individuals. My mission and life’s work is to empower more conscious, connected and courageous leaders. I believe everyone is a leader and is responsABLE for creating their world.
My Co-Co journey began in August of 2018 when I met Suzanne Willian during a Co-Active Coaching training course in Denver, CO. The Co-Co was a business plan preparing to launch at the time. I was impressed, inspired and energized by Suzanne and that was the beginning of our mutual colleagueship, mentorship and friendship.
Since January of 2019 I’ve been a “partner” to the Co-Co offering sample coaching sessions to new members, bringing Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead™ to Co-Co members, leading a Dare to Lead™ coaching cohort throughout 2020, AND, thank you to Covid and The Co-Co for offering virtual memberships, I joined in June of 2020 as an official member and long-time friend.
The Co-Co experience is magical, unlike any other “co-working” or “networking” community anywhere. I’m inspired by every woman I meet and beyond impressed by all the resources, learning and growth opportunities I have access too. As a result of my relationship, partnership and membership with the Co-Co, my business has grown significantly through the powerful human and digital connections of the Co-Co caliber of meaningful.
While I live in Denver, CO today with my husband Craig and super cute 16 week old puppy LuLu, I grew up in Orlando, FL and spent 6 years in Chicago, IL. No matter what city I lived in, I was always told, “you seem like you belong in NY”. My family roots come from Denville, NJ and my connection to The Co-Co feels like a coming home.
