Member Spotlight: Elizabeth Girouard

I was the typical type A woman. I worked hard, I played hard, I exercised hard and I didn’t have take care of myself. I followed the latest fad diets and was always trying to lose that last 5-10 pounds. After years of abusing my body, I was sick. Trying to get to the bottom of my symptoms, I saw one medical specialist after another and tried many different pharmaceutical drugs to alleviate my symptoms. Nothing helped. I was frustrated.

I started investigating alternative ways of healing and became much more aware of how our environment and the food we eat can make a significant impact in how we feel each day. I became a researcher, label reader and really focused on what types of products and food worked best for me and my family. I created a new path to wellness by changing my diet and lifestyle. I began eating pure, simple, whole foods found in nature and incorporating alternative treatments to Western medicine into my daily life. With these changes, my allergies, skin rashes and hives subsided, bloating and intermittent stomach pains decreased, my mood swings, cravings and midday energy slumps diminished and my overall energy level increased.

Once I got my nutrition sorted out, I looked at the chemicals we were using in the house and replaced our chemically based household cleaning supplies and body care products with natural products. I also looked at the other areas of my life to help in my healing process, such as exercise, stress reduction and spiritual connection. I cannot believe the difference in how I feel now, even though I still have many of the same illnesses I was diagnosed with years ago. I am a firm believer that your diet and lifestyle choices can help you to feel great at any age.

I received my training as a Certified Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge program where I gained extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. This training coupled with my Bachelor of Science degree from William and Mary and my international business experience at Andersen Consulting, JP Morgan and PeopleSoft/Oracle enables me to spread my knowledge to individual and corporate clients via seminars, lectures, group and individual programs, with the ultimate goal to help others feel great again!

Drawing on this knowledge, I help clients create a personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. These steps will help you to make lifestyle changes that will produce long term results. This is not your next fad diet – this is a program for YOUR sustainable, long term health!

My signature program, The Effortless 3-Day Reset Program, has helped many CoCo members jumpstart their healthy eating habits. Through this program, clients have experienced less belly bloat, weight loss, better sleep, increase energy, reduced pain and inflammation and more in 3 short days!

I learned about The CoCo at a working mom’s networking group. I met Lauren and was so thrilled to learn more about the facility. I first went to The CoCo as a guest of my business coach, who filled me in on all the great events and opportunities that were included with membership. She introduced me to Suzanne, who was so warm, open and inviting. What I loved about Suzanne is she never pushed me to join The CoCo. Instead, she was so welcoming, authentic and passionate about the mission of the facility, that I couldn’t wait to join. I’ve been a member at The CoCo for more than 6 months. I have met so many amazing people and learned so much from the varied events offered.

Working at The CoCo helps me to be much more focused than when I work in my home office. It’s the perfect balance, since I get work done and also squeeze in time for a coffee break, while I’m there. I have collaborated with several people I have met through The CoCo and I know being involved has benefited me both personally and professionally. I can’t wait until we can go back and CoWork live at The CoCo.
