I was born in Plainfield, raised in Watchung, and attended Watchung Hills - as did our three children. We raised our family in Warren, where my wife grew up, but after the kids moved out, we decided it was time for a change. I was not expecting to buy and live on a Christmas Tree farm in Sussex County, but my wife thought it was a good idea, and here we are...
I am a third-generation business owner. Many people know my father's business - Fabricland on Route 22. I was recruited not by my dad but by his managers (long story) and came to work at the family business after a career working in the travel industry in NYC.
We have come full circle to run a custom decorating business similar to my grandfather's, with five locations in Green Brook, Paramus, Livingston, Lebanon, and Branchville. We offer a FREE in-home decorating service for custom draperies, motorized shades, Hunter Douglas blinds & shutters, fabric, wallpaper, and re-upholstery.
Custom window fashions are essential for any homeowner. We also sell readymade curtains and shades, but we consider that product to be for the rental market. Custom window fashions offer privacy, light control, design, color, insulation, sound absorption, and more. Current studies show that a properly insulated window can save 15% on energy costs - even more when shades are motorized and/or put on a schedule. We also offer the most energy-efficient shade in the marketplace - the only shade that is eligible.
We met Betty through her Social Media company. We believe in networking and wanted to have a presence in Summit. We have five locations, but it is nice to have a place to meet Summit clients if they do not want to meet at their homes.
