Nicole Smith

I grew up in the Midwest (Iowa). My parents divorced when I was young. My mother has always been a feisty and determined person. She fought for what she wanted to accomplish and advocated for others as well. A huge role model for me. My Dad is witty and social and relaxed. I got the best of both. Fast forward to adulthood, motherhood, and elderhood. I moved around the US (9 states!), got married, and raised five children in NJ. My mother developed Alzheimer's and I had to learn fast. Followed by my Dad dealing with some physical issues and my stepmother being diagnosed with aphasia. What did I do? I wrote a book about my journey to hopefully help others in the same situation. I am one of many who can relate to being a Gen Xer in the sandwich generation.

I heard about the Co-Co through morphmom and immediately connected with several of the founders. I knew the Co-Co offered the right mix of professional growth, camaraderie, and an abundance mindset.I am grateful to the Co-Co community for the connections and collaboration and the writing group I joined before I even knew I would be authoring a book someday.

My business is a trifecta of resources for adults with aging parents. I plan to share the book, speak to associations and eldercare communities, and offer consulting services.
