Member Spotlight: Meet Sue Page
I'm English, I grew up in the south of England close to London, and lived in Windsor before moving to the US in 2005. I'm a Brit living in NJ for 18 years. We started off in Hoboken, then Jersey City (where we got submerged by Hurricane Sandy!) moved to Rutherford up a big hill, and are now in Harrison after selling our house so that I could leave my corporate position and focus on building my business. My husband is also British, but we finally took the plunge last year and became US citizens! I have 2 enormous cats, no kids, and a mad passion for football (soccer!).
Perimenopause hit me like a freight train at 42. I was totally unprepared and had no idea what was happening to me. It had a huge impact on my life; from an overall health perspective but also career-wise. I had terrible brain fog, my confidence was at an all-time low, I had crippling anxiety and my ability to function within my role was questioned. I set out on a journey to educate myself and along the way, I realized I could take this knowledge to help and support other women so they wouldn't have to navigate through this transition alone as I did.
At 50, I had finally found my purpose! I certified as a Nutrition Coach, left my 25-year corporate career, and founded FortyFiftyFabulous. I coach 1:1 with a customized program that focuses on each woman's individual needs and I also offer corporate workshops and menopause education. My coaching philosophy is rooted in my belief that every woman should be empowered to feel her absolute best through midlife. I challenge negative mindsets and work with my clients so that they can experience and understand what good health really feels like and are able to develop sustainable lifestyle habits that allow them to lead the life they want while still honoring and nourishing their bodies. It is a biopsychosocial approach that incorporates the biological, psychological, and social elements that can all affect a client’s response to nutrition & health coaching. Menopause has long been shrouded in doom and gloom, I am changing that narrative with my clients to help them approach midlife with renewed energy and joy.
I met with a fellow member, Komel Caruso, who suggested I join The Co-Co, and she was right! Starting an online business from home can be isolating, it's very important to me to be able to build my network and engage with like-minded women. I'm excited to be involved with The Co-Co and look forward to being an active part of this wonderful community.
