Member Spotlight: Meet Leslie Billet
I grew up in Livingston; went to Boston University where I majored in Russian studies (kind of useful lately); got my MBA in Finance from Baruch College CUNY. For 20 years I was an institutional investment consultant, managing large pension plans. I started my own firm to provide a service I think is useful and necessary, to control my work product, to be challenged, and to grow my own business.
I consult to professional services firms wanting to expand revenue opportunities. Specifically, I focus on client management and staff development as sources of expanded revenue and business growth opportunities. I offer customized, project-based consulting to address the issues most important to a business. For example, it may involve improving client communications and relationships, marketing materials, or business strategy to secure existing revenue streams or expand new business opportunities. On the staff side, projects may involve staff work practices and workflow, or working with professionals who may have developed specializations or expertise These are opportunities to expand client relationships and develop new lines of business. Improving how your staff works helps to create capacity, provide better integration and improve staff retention.
I found The Co-Co online, looking for a meaningful networking and community experience. Being a single practitioner, it has become important to get out of my echo chamber, to meet other women building businesses, to challenge myself, and to gain some education through The Co-Co's programming.
