Member Spotlight: Meet Heidi Block

I grew up in Cleveland and went to college in the Midwest, where I met a Jersey boy who dragged me to the East Coast a year after college and I’ve been here since. I’m a career marketer, mostly in consumer packaged goods, but I left my corporate job in 2022 to follow a business idea to capitalize on the explosion of pickleball. I leveraged my brand-building and innovation experience to develop a great American lifestyle brand called Play-PKL that could help others discover the joy of pickleball.

Play-PKL provides everything you need to get started playing pickleball—easy-to-digest content about the sport, apparel and equipment, and accessories. The mission of the brand is to bring pickleball to all. It’s such an easy sport that almost anyone can learn in about 15 minutes. And it’s fun and social too. Come play with us!

Claudia Lechtman told me about it some 4 years ago but it wasn’t something I was looking for at the time. When I decided to quit my job and work on my business full time, I wanted a community of other woman business owners and a place to go where I could build out my concept and get support while I did it. My experience at The Co-Co has exceeded every expectation. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
