“A few years ago, the organization I worked for hosted a golf event that many of my male colleagues participated in while my female colleagues only attended the dinner. When the men came back from playing to join us for dinner, it was clear to me that they strengthen their professional connection while we felt like outsiders looking into their world. It was at that moment I realized that golf is a missed opportunity that many executive women are not optimizing like our professional male counterparts.
The slow down of life during the pandemic created the time for me to explore golf and deepen my interest in the sport. It was like a light bulb lit up inside of me when I took my first golf swing: more women need to be doing this. As a health educator, I saw the multiple benefits of golf for our professional and personal wellness as women.
Last summer, I made the decision to focus on my passion full time and serve the needs of executive women. With the support of my husband, trusted friends and colleagues, the Stronger Tomorrow Golf and Wellness League for Women in Leadership was formed.
The purpose of the league is to harness the collective strength of executive women to enhance our careers, businesses and communities with golf as the vehicle - but in our way. As Sheila Johnson, CEO of Salamander Resorts says, “deals are made on the green.” We believe that the work we do today intentionally will make us stronger tomorrow, and golf is the ideal way to make change happen.
Stronger Tomorrow, LLC, is a workplace wellness company that serves to influence and reshape health and human services organizations through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion. Our work focuses on accreditation consulting, improving employee wellbeing and skill sets through continuing education, and supporting women in leadership. The newly launched Stronger Tomorrow Golf and Wellness League is a curated membership network for executive women to make deals on the green while taking care of their overall wellbeing.
On August 19th, the Stronger Tomorrow Women's Golf Outing will be held at Galloping Hill Golf Course, benefiting the YWCA Northern New Jersey. The outing is our launch event for our Golf and Wellness League that provides executive women a safe space to learn golf, enjoy curated professional relationships on the green that are mutually beneficial, practice personal wellness, and participate in a philanthropic ecosystem that supports causes that impact women.
I learned about The Co-Co from Nicole Alexander, a member who graciously gave me an informal tour of the workspace. She spoke highly of the network and the supportive environment of women.
I grew up in Queens, New York and currently reside in West Orange with my husband, 17 year old son and 14 year old daughter.”
