Member Spotlight: Cherise Mazur
I grew up in Union, NJ and have been living in Cranford for over 20 years. My husband is also from Union (it's how we met - in HS!) and we have 2 kids. Our daughter Rachel is 20 and attends JMU studying dietetics and our son, Nicholas is almost 17 and is a junior in HS. We also have a boxer named Rocco who is our 3rd child! He is 12 1/2 and still doing well!
Growing up I always struggled weight, diet culture & body issues. Once I had my daughter I wanted that to change so she would not have to experience what I did. I fell in love with the process of getting healthy and feeling better and wanted to share it with others. Started as a personal trainer and helping clients meal prep. Yoga was introduced to me to help ease my anxiety - I am not a 530 hour trained yoga instructor! Then I found IIN and became a holistic health coach and started my own health coaching business on the side in 2022.
I truly enjoy helping others on their wellness journey. I come from a whole health approach not just focusing on nutrition or any 1 diet as everyone is bio-individual. I love incorporating yoga and breathing with my clients to tap into those stress management tools. I meet with clients 1:1 or through my group coaching programs. I help women with hormonal changes - especially during those peri- and post menopausal phases. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in 2022 (currently in remission!) so I love helping women who struggle with thyroid disease too. Blood Sugar balance is another favorite of mine and I often run my Sugar Savvy group coaching program to help educate and reduce sugars in your diet (most of them are hidden too!) I have a love of healthy cooking and also offer a 3 day refresh 1x a month where I cook and prepare vegan & gluten free meals - giving your body a 'refresh' from the Standard American Diet. A private FB group is offered as well where I guide you those 3 days with nutrition education and motivation. I have taken a few workshops over the years at The Co-Co and always loved the community that I met. Once I saw that there was a wellness group forming I knew I had to be involved! Then I learned of all the amazing opportunities that The Co-Co offers & I knew I made the right decision to join!
